“When a woman births, she doesn’t just deliver a baby—she delivers herself into motherhood, a rebirth as powerful as the first breath her child takes.”
Ina May Gaskin

“In the act of giving birth, a woman is both creator and created anew—a mother emerges from the labor, reborn with her child.”
Laurel Thatcher Ulrich

Erika Wilmot, a licensed counselor, offers specialized services to guide women through the transformative journey of childbirth and the postpartum period. With a foundation as a doula, where she supported many births, Erika brings a unique blend of practical experience and clinical expertise to her practice. Her approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, ensuring that clients receive scientifically supported strategies tailored to their emotional and psychological needs.
Before childbirth, Erika provides counseling to prepare women for the physical and emotional demands of labor. Drawing on her doula experience, she educates clients about the birthing process, helping them develop coping mechanisms and birth plans that foster confidence and reduce anxiety. Her sessions incorporate cognitive-behavioral techniques and mindfulness practices, proven to enhance resilience and promote a positive birth experience. Erika’s goal is to empower women, equipping them to embrace their rebirth into motherhood with strength and clarity.
Postpartum, Erika’s support continues as she addresses the complex emotional landscape new mothers face. She employs evidence-based interventions, such as interpersonal therapy, to mitigate postpartum depression and anxiety, conditions she recognizes from her hands-on work with families. Her counseling facilitates adjustment to motherhood, reinforcing bonding with newborns and navigating identity shifts. Erika’s holistic perspective—honed through years of witnessing childbirth’s raw power—ensures that her clients feel seen and supported.
